The creation of Spaces
Monday and Tuesday this week were a blast for me!
I got the internal feeling that I didn't want to come to the office anymore... and I wasn't sure why. I like my job, I like what I do, I love the idea behind every single second that I spend at the office, with my team, with my dreams, with my day to day contribution to make a better world around me, for me and for others.
My day to day contribution to make this world a better space to co-exist with others...
And I review the whole process as a film. I sat down and visualized the complete process from when the alarm rings every morning and I wake up till I sit down at my desk. And I got shocked when I became aware that I didn't like the space we call office, where I spend most of my time lately.
I decided to make a difference!
Today, I am happily working in our AI office. It looks beautiful, clean, full of live! There are flowers and plants all over the place, we have a corner to play criket, ping pong table, a clean kitchen, 'It's up to you!' posters around...
Today the office breath a new atmosphere, for me and my team.
This space invites us to come and enjoy what we do, because we love what we do, but also because the space is a open invitation to joy and excitment.

After lastest team days, I discover that appart from cooking, my magic is also about creating spaces, and I have been helping my team to re-decorate their rooms, their home here in Rotterdam.
When was the last time that you got to a place and you felt that call to relax and actively enjoy life?

Thats so true - the spaces we live and work in really affect us :) I didn't like working in the LC office either until we cleaned it up, put up posters, pictures and plans - and today, because I was so tired of being cooped up in airless classrooms, we had an EB meeting in the front garden of university -
- the inner smile really counts. :)

Hi Dey,
Though I've heard so much about you, you don't have a clue of who I am. Anywho, I'd like to look into the opportunity of being in that SPACE in Rotterdam with the AI Team 2008-2009. Applying to AI is one last option I might do in my AIESEC career if I feel like it's still what I need for my plans of becoming a global entrepreneur.
My AI application for 08-09 is highly unlikely, because I'm working in the place of my dreams in Unleash Talent INC Sri Lanka. Last year I worked in the Finnish MC and I thought that kind of excitement and love for what you do would not be possible in the working life, but Unleash Talent has proven it wrong. It's a company that would allow me to go and put up their office anywhere in the world. We have only two people in the company (me and the boss), but more will come and the company will grow. Still, being small is also quite beneficial. It's a good space for your ideas and action!
Although AI is my plan C, I'd like to know if it from your point of view makes any sense. By the time I finish my internship, I've had seven years of AIESEC experience. Is there a right time to let go? Maybe I'm asking from a wrong person... or maybe he's just the right one.

Reading your post, I realised that ...yes, I'm one of this people that create space.. :) Never thought abt this before...
I end up reading ur mail with a smile... so, simple things...huh? :-)... and so important!
